REVIEW & MAKEUP LOOK: MUA UNDRESS ME TOO PALETTE

This is the palette that I have used for the looks below. It is by Make up Academy  (MUA) and costs only £4!!! Moreover it's really good quality too; all of the eye shadows are well pigmented, some more so than others but they still all work great and can be nicely blended.  This palette is supposedly a dupe for the Naked 2 Urban Decay palette, which has often caught my eye, however I'm happy with this one and enjoy using it, so I'm apprehensive about how much better the Urban Decay palette could be for such a huge price difference between the two.

The colours actually have names, which are on the back of the palette, which is a pretty classy thing to do for only £4, so I really don't think it looks cheap and nasty, like most cheap make up tends to. The eye shadows are mostly shimmery, with only three matte shades, the 1st (Naked), the 5th (lavish) and the last one which is a matte black (corrupt).
If you're not one for shimmery eye shadows, I wouldn't be completely put off by so many of the shadows being shimmery as they are a really subtle shimmer and are far from being glittering and giving the hot mess affect that some glittery shadows can do.

All the eyeshadow used is from the Undress me too palette, I used shades, Naked and Shy to highlight under the brow and the inner eye. Lavish as a base all over the lid, with wink and obsessed over it to add the shimmer. Finally Fiery under the lower lash line and above the crease. The only other products used for the eyes were the Collection 24hr extreme felt eyeliner and the mascara is by Models Own, Grow fast.

I would love to know what anybody else thinks about the difference between the cheaper eye shadows and high end shadows, especially the MUA ones, which you can get from MUA's website or superdrug.

BEDROOM DIY

Thought I'd let you all know of the recent changes that have gone on in my room in order to give it a fresh look while not shedding out on new furniture! This little DIY idea takes no time or hassle at all to do and is available to everyone as long as you can use a screwdriver or know someone that can!

I feel everyone can agree until we own our houses the bedroom remains to be a multi functional room that has to be fit for sleep, study and socializing. The result of this, is that my bedroom has be kitted out in practical and slightly boring  furniture to meet all the requirements.
Therefore I have recently began to 'revamp' some of my furniture in not some much of the Gok Wan painting and stitching way to more of a buying fun and unique accessories that require much less time to do over repainting the draws!
Beginning with purchasing just the two, I found these cute draw handles at The Chapel, a home gift store, and couldn't resist buying more. At £3.99 it will be a more gradual process as I run the risk of paying more on the handles than the draw however I think it is well worth it as the shape fit my bedroom requirements so well while still looking pretty!

REVIEW: HERBAL ESSENCES BEE STRONG

It's no secret that Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner, are known for smelling absolutely amazing! I hadn't used Herbal Essences shampoo or conditioner for quite some time, just because I was too busy using other brands, however this new range caught my eye. We were both unlucky enough to inherit fine and thin hair - apparently our mum didn't fancy sharing her thick hair! So our hair is more prone to damage, from all the nasty things we're all guilty of putting our hair through on a daily basis.

Anyway, the shampoo and conditioner is said to be aimed for those with damaged hair and is supposed to strengthen hair by helping to repair and protect the outer layer of the hair to leave it strong against combing damage. The shampoo and conditioner contains honey and apricot extracts, hence the 'Bee Strong' name... see what they did there?? Of course you do. Honey is known for its good use in beauty products and on top of this the shampoo and conditioner smell so good. I think the scent is much more apricot than honey but it still smells great and seems to last throughout the day!

Both the products left my hair feeling very good; very soft and smooth and did not leave my hair feeling heavy at all and instead very light weight, so you just want to swoosh your hair around because it feels so free... slightly weird but most importantly, it did leave my hair feeling very well conditioned and it looked great. Like all products which are potentially claiming to produce miracles, I'm not sure how much it repairs and protects but it left my hair feeling  great and that's good enough for me! The fact that it felt so well conditioned and hydrated makes me think it's doing a good job.

I now definitely want to try the intensive hair mask from this range, as I've heard very good things about it.  Have you tried anything from this new range?

CUTEST SOCKS

This is a bit of a strange post, however, after discovering Topshops  new and some what quirky line of socks I couldn't resist buying them and showing you all!

At £8 for all three (3 pairs for £8 deal),I would consider them worth every penny as they are so cute and different from other socks. They're also really soft and feel pretty good quality. On top of all that, I've always had a soft spot for the animals, so really could not resist these.

Topshop had other designs in this style, which included Big Ben, a Palm Tree setting and some others, however I was unable to locate these anywhere in the flesh so will most probably order them online as who doesn't need socks!?

REVIEW: THE BODY SHOP - EARTH LOVERS SHOWER GEL

It's no secret that we're all buying so many beauty products all packaged in so much plastic etc... which apparently is pretty bad for the environment...woops! When I saw these 100% biodegradable shower gels in The Body shop , I couldn't resist. They looked so fresh and the fragrances were very inviting. On top of this, there was no guilt in buying them as they're 100% biodegradable, so good for the environment!

The shower gels can be bought separately or in a pack of three for £9. They immediately caught my eye; putting aside their environmentally friendly draw the shower gels lots of lovely scents, the ones I bought are; Cucumber &Mint, Pear &Lemongrass and Lemon & Thyme, there were more a few more scents in the store, but these were my favorite. The product has a very light, watery texture however, very little is needed and a lather is easily created. They are also really gentle on the skin. Therefore, I feel they are pleasing to the body and the earth!

A LITTLE LOOK BACK ON MAY

Well, like everyone says, I can't believe another month is over and the end of this month means we are at the half way mark of 2013!! Woah time flies!

But anyway, it's safe to say we were both dreading May, along with probably every other student out there, as it only means one thing for education... EXAMS!!!! Luckily we both managed to survive the horrible exam period and were able to enjoy the end of May. Anyone who has had exams will know how stressful they are and how much of a relief it is when they're all over, so much so that even my boyfriend has commented on how much nicer I am now that I'm free from uni! Not sure if that's a compliment...

So what has happened in May?  Firstly and the most important, we started this blog! We had been wanting to start our own blog for about six months, but decided it would be best to wait until we had finished with uni and A level work, so the day after I finished my last exam I started trying to get my head around how you make one of these strange, intriguing things! I had no idea how complicated it actually is, but luckily we're figuring it out pretty well so far!

Another great thing that happened in May was Hannah passing her driving test,(you can read the blog post here), first time, after only turning 17, 3 months ago! It's so weird seeing your little sister driving around in her own car, on her own, where does the time go?! (Now I sound more like an OAP than a 20 year old but alas).

A lot of our time has been spent on this blog and having some well earned retail therapy, obviously necessary for blog purposes...why else would we need to go shopping?

We've also been able to catch up and spend time with friends that we were not able to see as much as we would normally like to while we had exams, which has been really fun.

I've also been researching wedding make up tips and tricks and practicing looks for my boyfriend's mums wedding, as I'm doing her make up, which is pretty exciting but scary! It's a nerve racking thought, thinking that you're responsible for how a bride looks on one of the best days of her life, when  inevitably she will be centre of attention, with all eyes on her.... oh dear.. no pressure!

So that's what our May has consisted of and now to enjoy June. We hope you all had a great month and are looking forward to what June has to bring. :D

REVIEW- LUSH 'GREASE LIGHTNING' SPOT TREATMENT

I confess to being one of the guilty majority who buy numerous spot treatments, yet never see them through, or never really know if it's doing anything to help spots. However, with LUSH's GREASE LIGHTNING as soon as it's applied to the skin it begins to tighten to a similar texture of face masks, therefore at the very least it feels like something is happening, which is an encouraging start.

Initially I was under the impression it was a spray, however the treatment comes out in a gel like form making it super easy to apply with accuracy to each spot or problem area. The design of this product is also really great as you just apply the treatment to the areas that need it and unlike other spot treatments you don't need to apply to the whole face which can sometimes be too harsh on the skin and dry it out, whereas this product will just target the spots.

All of LUSH's products are handmade and they always use natural ingredients, so you know that it should be really gentle and good for your skin. I have been using the treatment over the past two weeks, leaving it on all night so it can hopefully have the best chance to work its magic!

The results have been great; I can really see an improvement to the spots once I apply the treatment, and it definitely helps get rid of them quickly. I've had trouble getting rid of little break outs for a month of so now; it would slightly clear up but then soon return, however, after using this treatment, the little problem zone is now completely clear and stays clear. At £5.95 I can see the treatment lasting a really long time, so it's a really great little product.
