MINI HAUL & REVIEW: LUSH Handmade Cosmetics

We can all agree that LUSH is really good at drawing you in with all of its exciting and unique products and this haul was no exception.

BUBBLE GUM & POPCORN Lip Scrubs: The Lip Scrubs are made from castor sugar and jojoba oil, which exfoliate and moisturise the lips, getting rid of any nasty flakiness and leaving a perfect base for a flawless lipstick application. The Bubblegum and Popcorn flavours are very sweet, so if you're not a huge fan of sweet smells and tastes, the mint scrub may be a better choice. The pots last forever, as you only need to put a small amount on your finger and then buff it onto your lips to exfoliate. You can then either wipe or lick the excess off of your lips. The Sugar Scrubs are £5.25 each, which is reasonable due to how long they will last.

IT STARTED WITH A KISS Lip Tint:  This lip tint contain extra virgin coconut oil, shea butter and organic rosehip oil, therefore it is very moisturising for the lips. The colour is very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. The finish is very natural, so as to just give a subtle hint of pinky/red colour, but it can also be built up to achieve a darker colour, however the finish is still very natural, the product really is just a tint, you would not be able to achieve an intense finish like you could with a lipstick. The texture is quite different from most other lip products; we've found that it works best by dabbing your finger onto the product and then dabbing onto your lips. The tint feels very moisturising and light weight on the lips and has a good staying power. The only slight down side is that there is quite a strong cinnamon scent to the tint which may not suit everyone, which does seem to linger on the lips. Overall, we're definitely looking forward to trying more LUSH lip balms and tints! The price for the tint is £5.50.

VOLCANO Foot Mask:
LUSH Says:  "Kaolin cleans and repairs. Pumice helps you to rub away dead skin. Papaya has an enzyme that digests dead skin and loosens it for removal. Tomatoes are deodorising and cooling. Menthol, lemon and cinnamon stimulate circulation and give a very cool feel to the skin's surface."

We're looking forward to trying this product out and will review as soon as we do! Price, £5.75.

ROOTS Hair Treatment:
Roots costs £9.95 and is designed for use on fine hair. It claims to include three kinds of mint to stimulate the scalp and hair follicles. Also olive oil to give condition and strength, honey to soften and soothe and nettle absolute for shine. The smell isn't to our taste but it does smell very fresh and you can definitely smell the mint, so we can imagine that it will leave your hair feeling very re-freshed and energised. We will update with a review when we've tried the product out a few times.

THE GUV'NER Deodorant Powder:

This is a very unique product; completely different to the  aerosol or roll on deodorants that we are all very familiar with. We decided to give this product a try as it had very good reviews and we were really interested to see whether or not it would really work!
The deodorant costs £5.25, which isn't bad considering how long it's likely to last, you only need a small amount for each use. It contains absorbent charcoal powder  lycopodium powder which was historically used as a dusting powder for skin diseases and skin eruptions. The product smells very natural and earthy... with strong hints of lavender, which last on the skin for hours! It seems very gentle on the skin and maybe even conditioning. So far the deodorant seems to work great, although it is yet to be tried and tested with intense exercise!

  1. Great post! I've never tried any Lush products before but I'm curious to see what the powder deodorant is like now! :) Lovely blog - really pretty!
