BUTTERFLY WORLD

Hi!

Okay, so this is a bit of a different kind of post, but this is a beauty, fashion & lifestyle blog after all.

Yesterday, we took a trip to Butterfly world with our mum, nan and grandad. Butterfly world is situated in St. Albans and was created as a tribute to the butterfly and is a place where you can see and learn about the butterfly and other insects such as ants.

We went into a 'tropical butterfly' section, which contained apparently 600 tropical butterflies from places like South Africa, Asia and rainforests. It was really interesting to see all of the different types of butterflies that the centre had and to see all of their distinct markings. The butterflies were just flying around the room and apparently like to land on light surfaces, luckily we were both wearing bright clothes so no butterflies landed on us. They're pretty but we don't want them on us!

We also saw huge ant colonies. These were much less pretty to look at than the butterflies but it was quite fascinating to see the ant at work. They were leaf cutting ants, so they were all carrying around leaves to build whatever they were working on. It's very creepy to see that many ants all in one space but luckily none escaped!

Here are some photos of the butterflies. We forgot to take a camera (bad bloggers), so these are just from my phone.

After seeing the butterflies and ants, we walked around the gardens, which were quite pretty but there wasn't much going on. There were supposed to be native butterflies around the grounds, however we didn't see anything but bees! Maybe because it was a grey and quite cool weather day.

Anyway, it was a nice day out and we finished our day by having lunch out and also making a very exciting and cute purchase that we will reveal soon! :)

  2. I've been to a place like this when I was little. Butterflies are so beautiful :') It's confusing that everyone hates moths though as they're basically the same! xx
