Us and our grandad. |
So today is Father's day, the day that we celebrate all that our fathers do for us. Today was a little different for us, as we don't have a dad so we use father's day to celebrate how great our grandad is. He's always there for us, always helps us out with everything and in particular with our cars as we're girls and we just can't do car stuff that goes any further than checking oil, water and tyre pressures and them pumping them up if necessary. He's so generous and hard working and we couldn't ask for a better grandad or male role model in our lives. We are very lucky to have him.
We spent the day chatting about anything that had happened recently and of course giving our grandad a few little gifts. Like most grandparents and parents, he doesn't like us buying him gifts and would much rather buy them for us, so we just got him a few little bits, like a dvd and some of his favourite chocolate.

Later on we went to a town near us to have a browse and obviously Hannah couldn't resist doing some shopping, which we will show you all soon. I was good for once and restrained myself as money doesn't grow on trees and I'm trying to save!

Our grandad was also telling us about his younger years (don't they always do that)?! anyway, I enjoy hearing his tales and this time he was telling us about his motorbike that he used to have and that took him at least 18months to save for because he only earned £2 a week!!! Can you imagine living off of that now?! How times have changed.
Our grandad on his motorbike and his brother on the back. Hope everyone had a great father's day and if you couldn't celebrate with your dad, because they're rubbish, then it's their loss! |
